March 5, 1997 We have been researching the Stephens families of Marshall, Morgan and Jackson Counties, Alabama. Family tradition says there was a Gabriel Stephens (died at Muscle Shoals, Alabama, age 75) who was father of Willis Stephens was born abt 1775 in South Carolina. Willis Stephens had two marriages, 1st to Dicy ____. The known children of his first marriage were Nicholas, md. Mary ____, Henry, md. Mary Randals. His 2nd marriage was to Cynthia Walker and they had a Willis md. Ruthie E. and a Jesse md Jane (Walker?). Jane was part Cherokee. Willis, son of Gabriel lived and died at Bean Rock Hollow, on the Tennessee River, in Marshall County. We have accumulated many descendants of these names and would like to communicate with anyone who relates to these names.
